A few days ago I received the official press release about Arbor Slater Series longskate. A few quotes, specs, and pics:

The Slater Series is Arbor’s first composite design. It is built with a unique blend of materials that deliver a powerful combination of attributes, including: carve-oriented performance; solid downhill style; the right amount of surf heritage; and most importantly, a respect for the environment.

The Slater Series is built around four plys of sustainably sourced Canadian Hardrock Maple sandwiched between two layers of pre-cured fiberglass. The glass makes the board’s long-lasting flex-style performance possible - creating a fun, more forgiving ride. In the Arbor tradition, we added an innovation not previously used in composite design; we finished the deck with an ecologically accessed ply of Hawaiian Koa wood, creating improved durability and response time.

Kind of board I like, hope to test one soon. Compact pintail, like slater's mini gun, flex and shape should make it an ideal cruising and carving board.

Last summer (about a year ago) I shred on my longskates, buy a pair of gloves and learnt how to slide. There's a little movie clip of my slide sessions. I didn't train for too long so had not lots of tricks, but the spots are great. Then, winter came, and now, I am more into bowl riding than sliding, and I miss an appropriate equipment. But I may come back to sliding later!
